Tempranillo – 2017
Minimum order: 3 bottles. Mix & match across wines.
Close to my childhood home this Tempranillo is grown out in the San Antonio Valley ava. Deep into Monterey County this Ava has more in common with much of Paso Robles soil structures. It is a unique site with a gentle west/northwest facing slope. The soil is what drew me to this location as its a complex mixture of Chalkstone, Limestone, with pieces of Marble and Granite and a low amount of actual dirt. This mixture helps keep the aromatics bright even when the ripeness climbs slow.
It should pair best with pulled pork, quality cold cuts, terrine, or bacon. Or just as a drinkin wine! It has texture with finesse and with aromas of boysenberry, pine sap, and wildflowers.. On the pallet it has hints of baking chocolate with yellow plum and wild blueberries.
